Gingerbread House

Gingerbread House Recipe

This recipe by Sally’s Baking Addiction is the one I use every year for gifts. A single batch is more than enough to make 1 house. A double batch will make 3 houses. I use sugar-free candy for the windows, because they contain Isomalt which melts clear.

Ingredients: organic unbleached flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, allspice, salt, butter, brown sugar, egg, molasses.
Candy windows: Isomalt, Maltitol Syrup, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Red 40, Blue 1, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Red 3.

If you’re interested in making a construction gingerbread house that’s lighter and easier for custom designs, I recommend this one by Serious Eats.
